With his Trident Page 8

As she walked out from behind the truck in her towel robe, clothes hung over the front to dry, he stood up and went to her, wrapping his hands around her.

She returned the gesture, wrapping her arms around his neck as his arms encircled her waist. She stopped, placing her forehead against his. “Can we stay like this forever?”

He grinned. “Yes.” He brushed a hand down her side, rubbing absentmindedly against the fluffiness of her robe. His hand closed on the robe tie, only to stop.

She looked at him. “Why’d you stop?”

“Because we shouldn’t. We should take things slow—“

“We’ve known each other our whole lives and…” Liviana gently took his hand, placing it back at on the ties. “I want you to.”

“Livy—” She took a step back, gently pulling her robe open and running a hand through her wet hair.

He looked her up and down. “Wow.”

“What?” A slight blush crept up her face at the intense gaze. “Tane?”

He ran a finger over her jawline, cupping her face and kissing her. When he pulled back, he smiled. “You’re beautiful Liviana.” He reached around behind her, gently unhooking her bra strap and tossing the garment to the side.

His eyes searched hers. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” She placed her hands on his bare chest, slowly gliding them up around his neck as she leaned against him. She started, looking down. “Uh Tane? Is that…?” her eyes trailed down to the slight bulge in his jeans.

His eyebrow rose, a smirk on his face. “Yeah.”

She looked back up at him. “Are you ready?”

He nodded wordlessly and the two slowly sank to their knees on the sand, Liviana slowly unbuttoning his jeans.

She smiled, undoing his belt and unzipping his pants. He pulled his pants and boxers down to his thighs to allow Livy to get to his cock easier. She took him in her hand and started to stroke slowly.

“Fuck, baby, you feel how hard I am? You see what you do to me?” Tane asked her, his hand slightly brushing against her forearm. She looked up at him again before putting her mouth over the tip of his cock.

“Oh! Ohhh fuck…” Tane moaned, trying his hardest not to thrust up into her mouth. She was taking him in slowly, almost painfully so. She went in a centimeter, she came out an inch. It was sweet torture.

Livy finally went all the way down on him.

“That’s more like it, fuck--” Tane moaned. His hands were gripping clumps of sand, trying to maintain his composure. Livy took him all in, her tongue pressing against the underside of his cock. Tane’s hands trailing along her pale skin, trying not to dig his nails into her. He knew he had to stop soon before he blew his load. She came up for air, licking her lips and smiling. Tane caught his breath, bringing her up off the ground.

“It’s your turn,” he said before pulling down her underwear to her thighs with his mouth and sinking his mouth up against her pussy. She’ was already wet, but it didn’t stop Tane from swirling his tongue around her clit. She moaned at his technique, her hands running through his hair. He slipped a finger inside her, curling upwards on her g-spot. Her moaning became more ragged. She pulled at his hair making sure he stayed right against her pussy. Tane’s tongue pressed down hard against her and he slid another finger inside her. That set her off body shaking with orgasm, her legs weak beneath her. Tane pulled out his fingers and she lay back on the sand, catching her breath. Tane sucked his two fingers before going back to stroking his cock.

“Liv, your pussy tastes so fuckin’ good…”

She let out a breathy laugh before sitting up.

Tane reached in his pocket and found a stray condom. Unrolling it onto himself, he sat back on the sand. “Y’ready to ride this cock, baby?” he asked motioning at his lap.

She strode over and got on top of him, folding her long legs. She lowered herself down slowly onto his cock and rocked her hips back and forth. Tane groaned.

“That--that’s a good girl, ahhh fuck!” he brought her down for a sloppy kiss, both of them moaning in tandem. He moved his hand between them and started to rub her clit. Her hands grabbed his shoulders as she bounced up and down on his cock.

“Ya like the way I treat you, baby?”

Between Livy’s moans, she finally let out a “yes” before swirling her hips around, slowing her pace slightly. Tane moved his mouth to suck on her tits, his hot breath sending shivers down her spine. She felt good, almost unnaturally good.

  “Wrap yourself around me.”

She did as she was told, managing to wrap her legs around his stomach without pulling off of him. Tane hoisted himself off the ground and thrust into her deeper than before. As good as this felt, Tane was not entirely sure how long he could keep it up. He moved her to the hood of the car so it could serve as leverage mouths still fused together. Tane grabbed her waist and continued to thrust into her.

Her orgasm was ripped out of her, her fingers rubbing her clit in a frenzied motion. Tane put her ankles on his shoulders. She gave him a small smile back as she slid her hands up and down his strong arms. Tane changed his pace, slower and more deliberate. He lowered his torso down to hers, and she planted kisses along his jaw line. Her lips trail down to his neck, and her kisses turn to vicious bites. Tane didn’t mind. He’s just focusing on getting off. If anything, the bites only excited him more.

After some maneuvering, Livy unfurled herself from Tane and flipped onto her stomach. He settled back inside her, biting onto her ear. “You’re all mine, ya know that?” he said, taking a little nibble at her earlobe. She moaned in response, turning her head to kiss him once more. His fingers run through her hair, eventually getting a handful. He twisted the hair in his hand, causing her to gasp out in excitement. She pushed her hips back against him right as he thrust forward, causing him to go as deep as he could. He stumbled a little bit at this sensation, feeling his impending orgasm deep in his core. He surrendered to it, letting himself go as sensation carried him away.

Liviana sighed in contentment, smiling at the warmth from Tane’s body enveloping her. The even rise and fall of his chest soothed her into further relaxation and her smile widened as his arms tightened around her, pulling her closer. She could feel his breath on her neck.

She shivered as she felt water lapping at her side, “Tide’s comin’ in.”

  “Yeah.”

Her eyes searched the lake. “Tane?”

  “Hm?”

“How long do you think we’ve been out here?”

  “Dunno. Couple hours maybe?”

He kissed her shoulder and she shivered. “Cold?”

  “A little bit.”

“Here,” He reached behind him, his hand patting the dock only to realize something. “Shoot.”

  “What?”

“I left my t-shirt over by the rope swing.” He slowly untangled himself from her, standing up and stretching. “You gonna be alright here on your lonesome for a bit?”

She waved him off. “I’m okay. Go get your shirt.”

Tane smiled before jogging up the bank, returning several minutes later with his t-shirt. He threw it at her. “Here”

  “Tane, are you sure?”

He walked over, feeling her t-shirt hanging over his bonnet. “Your shirt’s still damp; it’d be better to just wear mine home. You can keep it if you like.” He smiled as he crossed to the other side of the jeep, pulling on his boxers and jeans. “They’re a little damp still, but not bad.”

Liviana stood up, pulling the t-shirt over her head before walking over and pulling on her cutoffs and shoes, retrieving her bra from the grass.

She sighed. “I better go; the sun’s going to rise soon and Mom will wonder where I am.” She leaned up and kissed him, cradling his face in her hands. “Good-bye Tane. Thanks for a great time. I do hope I see you again.”

He returned the kiss. “Good-bye Livy. Sweet dreams.”

He was packing up to go back to college when he heard a knock on the door.

“Yeah?” he looked up to see his father leaning against the door jamb.

“So? Did you find out what she knows?” he asked.

Tane shrugged, “I’ve been watching her closely dad. She’s not acting strange around me and I think she really likes me.”

“Women can be tricky though,” Tipene said.

“Yeah. I know that. And Livy’s probably trickier than most. However, I think she’s sincere.”

“Okay so whatever she saw, she suppressed it. That’s what we’re going with?” Tipene walked into the room, hands in his back pockets regarding Tane intently.

“Yeah, I mean short of asking her flat out what she saw, I don’t see any other way.”

“And these…dates you’ve been going on Tane…what are you doing? Is this real or…?”

Tane shrugged, flicking a glance at his father even as he put away his things, “I like her dad. She’s fun to be with, interesting. It’s a new dynamic from what I’m used to with her and her sister.”

“Okay. Good. That’s good.” Tipene said with what looked like a sigh of relief.

“What’s good?” a voice asked from the doorway and they both turned in startlement.

  “Mom-”

  “Niky-”

They both said at the same time.

Nikora grinned, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. What were you guys talking about?”

“Uh well, Tane might have a girlfriend.”

  “She’s not my girlfriend!”

“Okay but you’re dating.” Tipene said with a shrug.

“We’re…” Tane’s mouth opened and closed, not sure about what exactly he was doing.

Nikora laughed, “Owkay…” she said, “How about you go wrap things up in college and then you can come back and figure it out? You have just eighteen months to go and you’re done.”

Tane straightened up, “Mom, I didn’t want to leave you in the lurch like this. Managing everything and just-”

Nikora stepped forward, putting a hand on Tane’s shoulder, “My dear boy, of course you’re not leaving me in the lurch. You’ve done so much already; dealing with lawyers and accountants, the household staff, overseeing the company audit…you’re leaving me a clean slate. All I have to do is make sure things keep running smoothly.”

“Yeah but we haven’t settled things with the mansion for one thing…”

Nikora shook her head, “All extraneous staff have been relocated to other facilities and the house is ready to lease. I think I can handle handing over the keys to a new tenant.”

“Yeah but you shouldn’t have to.”

“Tane, you’ve missed a semester already-”

  “Half a semester,” Tane interrupted.

“Whatever. I won’t let you miss anymore because you think I’m too fragile to be left on my own.”

Tane and Tipene exchanged glances. Not only did Tane have to go back to college but Tipene was shipping out the following week.

“I will be fine,” Nikora insisted with a roll of her eyes, “I’m not some shrinking violet.”

Both Tane and Tipene moved toward her, snaking arms around her, “We know mom,” Tane said.

“So. It’s settled. You’re going back to school. Dad’s going back to work. Life goes on.”

Tane and Tipene’s eyes met and they sighed simultaneously, “Yeah but we don’t have to like it.” Tipene said.

Nikora reached out, putting a hand around each of their shoulders, “My big strong men. Always worrying about me. Y’all so sweet.” She kissed first Tane’s cheek then Tipene’s.

“She’s patronizing us,” Tipene said to Tane.

“And we probably deserve it,” Tane replied.

“Okay so will you at least allow us to take you to dinner before I leave?” Tane asked.

“Only if Livy can come,” Nikora said giving him a look.

Tane stiffened, not sure what to say, “Uh…we’re not really-” he began to say.

  “She’s my friend,” Nikora interrupted.

“Alright. Fine. But only because you asked. I don’t want to send the wrong message.”

“The wrong message being…? That you might be interested in her?”

  “I…”

“Yeah, that’s what I thought. I’ll go call her,” Nikora said whirling around and leaving the room. Tane and Tipene stared at each other and then Tipene shrugged.

  ***

Livy had been fumbling with her dress for half an hour now, adding and removing accessories and hopelessly trying to make it look as good as it had on the model she’d seen wearing it. It was annoying how much effort she was putting in because she wasn’t that type of girl. She was simple and straightforward and all the Patarikis already knew that about her. But somehow here she was trying to look like something she wasn’t. The irony isn't lost on her of course - the night to come with someone who she was pretty sure was trying to look like something he wasn’t.

She'd been dreading this for the past week now, ever since Tane had told her she was invited to his going away dinner. They'd been in her bed after returning from a long walk in which he’d told her he was leaving for school, followed by a rather long drawn out preoccupied bath together.

"I’m gonna miss you," she'd whispered in the dark, eyes glued on him even though his were directed at the ceiling.

"Yeah I’m pretty awesome." He turned his head, grinning at her.

"Punk." she hit him on his gleaming chest.

  "Punk lover."

  "So mature."

  "That’s me."

She gave him a playful whack. "I'm going to sleep."

He had gotten in a wink of course. Before standing up to leave her bed and go back to his. Her heart had sunk at that but she said nothing, keeping her eyes closed.

She stopped fidgeting with her clothes and began to search for her purse. She was supposed to meet Tane at the junction between their houses so they could ride together to the restaurant.

  ***

The restaurant was carefully selected. Private enough to escape the press, highbrow enough to for them to attract no more than average attention among diners and casual enough to keep Livy comfortable.

Not that comfortable seemed to be on the table tonight. Both of them sat silent, picking at their food. Tipene and Nikora had conspired to trick both of them into this date, and left them alone at the restaurant with the instructions that they were going to talk "or else."

After moving a single bite of steak around her plate for a few minutes, Livy cleared her throat and opened her mouth to speak.

“Shh!" Tane said, raising a hand. "Why don’t we just eat, enjoy ourselves and then say goodbye, see you around huh? Because regardless of my parents’ nefarious plans, there’s not much I can promise you here except that we can revisit this when I get back."

  Livy sighed. "Tane..."

"No. There’s really nothing left to say."

Livy glared across the table. "Can I speak or are you going to shush me all night?"

"Sorry. Just trying to avoid the awkward."

"I think you’re making it even more awkward. I know you have to finish school and I’m not asking for anything from you."

Tane waved a hand dismissively. "But?"

Livy grabbed the hand. "Tane, listen to me. Listen very carefully."

She waited. Tane tried to tug his hand back, but then settled for glaring at the saltshaker.

"Tane, I need to ask you something and you need to tell me the truth," Livy raised her other hand as Tane started to speak. "No, don't talk. Listen. That day on the beach after we…uh, well after your grandparents’ funeral, I saw something when I followed you to the beach."

Tane opened his mouth again, but Livy shook his head.

"I thought I was hallucinating but then we’ve been spending a lot of time together
. A lot of time on the water. And in spite of my best efforts to put it out of my mind, I’ve still been kind of keeping an eye out for anything…hinky. Now, I haven’t seen what I saw again but I have noticed a few things about you that make me wonder."

Tane gaped like a goldfish for a few minutes before looking down at the table and their joined hands.

"So," he said. "Er, can I talk now?"

  Livy nodded.

"I don’t know what you think you saw Livy, or what you feel you know about me but-"

Livy laughed and nodded, squeezing Tane's hand before letting go. "No let’s leave out the part where you say ‘Livy, you’re losing your mind you should see a shrink’ okay? I have you timed, staying underwater, for over seven minutes. When you resurfaced, you weren’t even out of breath let alone half drowned. So don’t try to make out like I’m crazy.”

Tane inclined his head to the side, “I’ve been in the water since I was three years old. There’s nothing special about holding my breath for seven minutes.”

“Oh yeah? Nothing special? Because I’m pretty sure the average person passes out after three minutes if they don’t have oxygen. No matter how much time they spend in the water.”

Tane sighed, looking down, “What exactly do you think is going on here?”

“I don’t know Tane. I do know that when I tried to ask you on that day, you shut me up with a kiss and then you made love to me on the beach. So you tell me, what are you hiding?”

Tane lifted his eyes to glare at her, “I’ve been nothing but up front about my feelings,” he said coldly.

  “I didn’t say you weren’t-”

“So I don’t appreciate you insinuating that I’m using sex as some kind of…weapon.”

“I didn’t say that. I just asked you if-”

“I’m not gonna sit here and be insulted Livy. This is so like you. You’ve always been a critic. I can never do anything right in your eyes,” Tane’s voice was rising.

Livy raised her hand placatingly, trying to get him to listen. Tane stood up, pushing his chair back with force. He reached for his wallet, throwing some money on the table.
